Computer Tune-Up Service

Is your computer running extremely slow? Are programs unresponsive and web pages take forever to load? Don’t throw in the towel and buy a new computer just yet! In most cases, I am able to restore a computer so it’s running faster than the day you bought it. Here’s what I’ll do:

Disable unneeded startup programs:

When you turn on your computer, dozens of programs are loaded and they run in the background the whole time your computer is on. MOST of these programs are not necessary and they take up valuable system resources. I will disable these unneeded programs from loading and free up your system resources for the programs you actually use. For many computers, this step alone is enough to make a world of difference.

Delete temporary files:

Over time, your computer’s hard drive becomes full of unneeded junk files. These files take up space and greatly increase the time it takes to do an anti-virus scan. I will delete these files and also show you how to delete them in the future.

Replace bloated anti-virus with lightweight, fast anti-virus:

Oftentimes, the main issue with a slow computer is the anti-virus. While many anti-virus programs are great at protecting your computer, they also slow your computer to a crawl in the process. Fortunately, I can install effective anti-virus software that doesn’t compromise speed for security.

Upgrade the RAM:

Sometimes, all the software tweaks in the world aren’t enough to speed up a computer. In this case, a RAM upgrade will give your computer the resources it needs to run efficiently. RAM allows you to run more software simultaneously before your computer starts to slow down.

And more:

There is much more that goes into tuning up a computer but I won’t bore you with all the details here. For a fraction of the cost of a new computer, you can have your current computer running lighting fast. Call 406.551.4176 to schedule an appointment.
